
Marek Ryszard Dojs

Marek Dojs is an award-winning filmmaker and associate professor of Communication at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota.
A British Pole raised in the United States within an English community, Marek works in multiple media but finds his niche in nonfiction film, aiming to create purposeful and meaningful works.
His film work spans a range of subjects, but is particularly focused on character identity within cultural, historical, and communal frameworks. This interest extends to his academic work, where Marek explores the intersection of history, communication, and personal identity, with a particular focus on the Holocaust and other genocides.
Marek holds an M.F.A. from the University of North Texas in Denton, and a B.A. in History and Communication from the University of St. Thomas in Houston. He is currently a PhD candidate at Gratz College studying Holocaust and Genocide Studies.
Alongside his professional interests, Marek is a lifelong supporter of Chelsea Football Club. He is married to his wife Madeline and they have nine children.
