Tracing Shadows in Prussian Blue
In 2022, inspired to dedicate my later career to the memory of those impacted great tragedies of the 20th Century, I began a PhD in Holocaust & Genocide Studies. In the middle of one of my classes, I discovered a photograph taken at Auschwitz in 1944. The moment that I discovered that photograph was a moment in which the historical, artistic, and the personal collided - and sparked one of the most authentic creative responses in my life, producing a short film in just 5 weeks.
"The Vanishing Point: Tracing Shadows in Prussian Blue" is a deeply personal exploration of memory, identity, and the transformative power of photography.
It is also a story about my grandfather.
"The Vanishing Point: Tracing Shadows in Prussian Blue" is part of the larger collection of the Stories from the Third Floor.
